Hi guys

wondering if anyone could help me.

I’ve been asked to print off a lot of my photos which I have done on a few occassions but the print quality isn’t that spectacular.

Can anyone recommend a decent printer that isn’t going to cost the earth to refil the inks etc and will give me decent print quality.

Many thanks

That’s a very difficult question. The accountants amongst us will probably tell you that no printer will actually save you money – the cost of owning, filling and using one is greater than getting prints made for you. You only actually save money if you make enough prints to justify the cost of a large format printer (A2 and above).

What you gain is control over the process.

This isn’t an answer, nor is it intended to be. The first questions to ask are “what’s the maximum size”? and “do you want to print black and white”? (though if the answer to the second is “yes” the only printers that will do it to an acceptable quality as far as I know are A3 and larger).

If you want to use fine art paper, that knocks out a few more best photo printer.

From the point of view of saving money and getting an acceptable quality, make sure that your monitor is accurately profiled and use a professional quality printing company.

You seem to be a small volume printer; people will tell you that Epson have a reputation for blocked nozzles if you don’t print regularly. The other major player is Canon; in my experience (limited to one model against 4 Epsons) they are slightly worse (100% blockage rate, whereas 2 Epsons never blocked; and the Canon guzzled ink to clear a blocked nozzle).

I’ve got a full set of Henckels Professional S knives and a couple of Shun Kaji(Chef’s and a 7″ Santoku).

Now that the Henckels are a few years old, I have to sharpen them often. I sometimes wonder if the wife is using them to cut bricks or something. I use a Spyderco ceramic rod sharpener and it takes a while to get a good edge back on these blades.

The Shun are still very sharp but you have to send them off to be resharpened. None of these knives goes into the dishwasher although my wife has sent some of the steak knives through.

Good site about Best Kitchen Knives.

Would some regular carbon steel blades be better? They won’t hold an edge for long but they are easier to sharpen. Or should I bit the bullet and get some more expensive blades? Shun makes some more expensive ones but being Japanese in design, they are thin and I’d like something with heft for cutting meat and bones.

Yes its true most people do struggle to find that special someone that will be with you for the rest of your life. But if you are having difficulties getting your act together then you should get relationship advice for men. Because not only will this help you out with your social life but it will change the way you interact with other people especially women. They are delicate creatures to attend to and they most of the time need special attention. But finding the right one for you can be pretty difficult especially if you have a full schedule everyday that you may have trouble finding free time to spare.

You may or may not know about the ladder theory. If you do then you know that finding the right girl can be pretty easy if you just follow certain steps. But this may be difficult if you cannot find the time to spare because it is a little bit of work. Don’t get frustrated because you know that there is someone out there waiting for you to sweep them off their feet. Because that is what most women want, someone to wine and dine them until they fall hardly in love. This can be a good thing if that is what you are looking for but if it’s not be careful because girls seem to get attached a lot quicker then most men.

My sister Jaime is a hard one to shop for at Christmas time. So I called up my mom and asked her what Jaime was into. She explained to me that Jaime has been doing a lot of sewing in her spare time but doesn’t have all the good stuff for it. She has four kids and makes many of the clothes the youngest one wears. Having four kids puts a strain on her budget so making clothes saves her money.

So I started looking around for some sewing supplies and found that Michaels or online are really the best places to get supplies. This year I really want to do something special for my sister and I’m thinking about looking at sewing machines. I didn’t know there where so many different ones to choose from. Brands like Singer, Janome, Euro-Pro, Brother, Juki and Rex it’s going to be hard to find the right one. Who knew there are so many with all the different features and whatnot. What happened when the days of a basic sewing kit were enough. I’m guessing those days are long gone and most people just go to a tailor or a dry cleaners nowadays.

Tomorrow I’m going to go down to Sears and see what they have. What I plan on doing is finding out the best ones then going online to find the best price. The best prices are always online and for a high ticket item like this most if not all the place offer free shipping. I just glad Jaime doesn’t read this blog otherwise she would know what I’m getting her.
